Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poorly designed I've had it for 5 years. The turntable motor broke 2 years ago. The lightbulb on the underside is all the way towards the back with the socket on the inward side of the compartment, so it's like a contortionist act to change the lightbulb, especially when the bulb breaks off the base and you have to get the base out of the socket. Also, there's no pause button, so if you need to open the door in the middle of cooking, you either have to hit "stop" and lose your time and settings, or just open the door, which I don't like doing. What were they thinking when they designed this thing???? Now I know what to look for before I buy my next microwave.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible!!! DO NOT BUY!!!!!! Broke in 2 1/2 years Bought it 2.5 years ago, broke and is out of warranty. Sad that appliances don't last anymore, especially since this microwave was so expensive. I won't be purchasing anymore Maytag appliances.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Only had this microwave for less than 5 years and our stove is right underneath it. When boiling water or cooking we always have on hood fan but steam still went through front of microwave door causing it to crack. The part for the door to replace costs more than the actual unit so we won't replace. Of course it's not covered under warranty. Shouldn't make the door like this when they know people 99.9% of the time will be cooking under it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ability to add 1 minute to cooktime. I am not pleased with the microwave. I liked my other one better. The defrost cycle does not work well -- it defrosts too quickly and too warmly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pure junk This microwave was installed in our new home that we took possession of in July 2011. After 2 years, a 4 square inch section of plastice on the right corner of the unit fell off. Metal pieces resemebling small thin latch pieces began falling off last year. This year, I noticed the door fit poorly. I noticed today there is no power to the unit whatsoever. I would never buy another Maytag product and it is really sad how far the Quality of this product as fallen!

Is Your Connection Gas or Electric?

Electric

Available with traditional coil heating elements or ceramic glass cooktops.
Benefits: Cooking elements provide consistent, even heat. Ceramic cooktops are easy to clean.
Requirements: Connect to electric for cooktop, oven, clock and lights. Ceramic cooktops need special cleaners.
Look for: Hot surface indicators for added safety. Convection fan to circulate oven air for shorter baking times.

Gas

Most gas ranges can be connected to a natural gas or propane line.
Benefits: Visible flame provides precise control over a wide range of temperature settings. Burners retain little heat when turned off — so cooking stops almost immediately.
Requirements: Connect to gas line for cooktop and oven and to electric for clock and oven lights.
Look for: Electronic ignition to light burners instantly. Sealed burners for easy cleanup.
