Rated 4 out of 5 by from My 1st Gas Range. I am learning how to cook all over again, but finding that I like the gas stove. I like the auto light features for the burners. I also like that it cleans up so much better than the tops of my electric stoves in the past. I have found I need to cook most everything on low or it burns including my favorite food popcorn. The oven works much the same but I don't like the gas smell when I am using the oven, the gas smells and does not go away, not sure if it needs to be adjusted or if that is just how gas ovens operate. I have not cleaned the oven to comment on that and I am getting the hang of the timer operation. I am curious how the broiler will work since it seems to be only down the center of the stove. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for price Preheats fast, cooks very evenly. Love the flat cooktop grates. I wish the burners were spaced far enough apart for me to be able to put 4 pots/skillets/or pans on at once on the cooktop. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stay away from any Whirlpool Golds - very poor quality I built a house 3 years ago and selected Whirlpool Gold suite, gas range, refrigerator with French doors, dishwasher and microwave thinking they were the best in class. In the past 3 months or so, I had to repair the ice maker, dishwasher, and the touchpad controls of the range oven is no longer working - and the warranty is only for 1 year. Mind you these appliances were slightly used as there only 2 adults and 1 child in the house. I will never, ever buy whirlpool brand ever and have told everyone and will continue to tell everyone of the quality of this brand.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wrose Oven I ever purchased We purchase this oven back in March 2015. The oven came with a defective front panel. the company send a technician who came and change the panel. Few months later the Panel became bubbly. When I called in I was told that Whirlpool only covers cosmetics defects for 30 days. The bubbly panel is due to bad design where the heat is causing the bubbling to happen. Also if we cook on more than two burners at the same time the Stove starts to beep.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Some heating problems. Doesn't seem to be much variation in the RFront Med-High to Med-Low range on stove.Drawer on bottom needs 2 hands to glide it back evenly into place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm finally cooking with gas! We've been wanting a gas range for years.Cooking on an electric range doesn't compare with the efficiency of gas. When you put something on to boil it takes a fraction of the time compared to an electric burner. When you turn a burner down you get an immediate response unlike the glass top electric stoves. This stove top is also much safer than the glass top as pots don't spin and slide. We've only had this Whirlpool range for a couple of weeks but we love it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Review Burning off the new wasn't pleasant. Two large cooking grates on top are heavy making cleaning a chore, 3 would be better. Stove drawer could use better guides. Oval center burner would be better for grill accessory. Switch from electric to gas was a great decision. Glass in door, oven light with switch, large oven space, stove top cooking times, broiler, all an A+.Still out is baking and cleaning oven ease. Will add an interior thermometer to check actual temp to stove display. Had it a month and loving it.

Is Your Connection Gas or Electric?

Electric

Available with traditional coil heating elements or ceramic glass cooktops.
Benefits: Cooking elements provide consistent, even heat. Ceramic cooktops are easy to clean.
Requirements: Connect to electric for cooktop, oven, clock and lights. Ceramic cooktops need special cleaners.
Look for: Hot surface indicators for added safety. Convection fan to circulate oven air for shorter baking times.

Gas

Most gas ranges can be connected to a natural gas or propane line.
Benefits: Visible flame provides precise control over a wide range of temperature settings. Burners retain little heat when turned off — so cooking stops almost immediately.
Requirements: Connect to gas line for cooktop and oven and to electric for clock and oven lights.
Look for: Electronic ignition to light burners instantly. Sealed burners for easy cleanup.
